The Centre for Applied Buddhism, together with the Institute for Education at University College London, recently held on the 16 May 2018 a Conference on ‘Global Citizenship Education’ and the practical application of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals at Taplow Court. We explored through keynote speeches, discussions and workshops, how we as ‘ordinary’ citizens can put the SDGs into action and how we can make a difference. Our enquiry was particularly into the areas of Education, Civil Society, Business and Young People with keynote speeches from Joss Tantram (Terrafiniti/Towards 9 Billion), Dr. Namrata Sharma, Isabel Carlisle (Transition Network team) and Josie Parkhouse. If you are interested in this subject and would like to know more please let us know. We hope that many of the papers will be published soon in a book.
