During the UKABS Conference 2023, a panel discussion titled 'Buddhists Engaging at the UN' explored the nature of religious work and advocacy at the UN, including negotiating religion-based boundaries, how Buddhist principles, such as mindfulness and compassion, impact on work and what impact (if any) they have on UN policy. Key speakers were Steve Chiu from the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation and Alexandra Goossens-Ishii from the Soka Gakkai International Office for UN Affairs. The panel was organised by Grove Harris from the Temple of Understanding.
